General Edward Katumba Wamala is a distinguished native of Kalangala, Ssese Islands in Buganda, Uganda. Boasting an illustrious career marked by dedicated service, he has risen through the ranks of the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) to attain the prestigious rank of Four-Star General. Throughout his career, he has held pivotal positions, including that of Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Inspector General of Police (IGP).
General Katumba Wamala's commitment to public service extends beyond the military and government. He seamlessly transitioned into public service as a State Minister and later served as the Minister of Works and Transport. Moreover, beyond his official roles, General Katumba Wamala is shining example of community engagement.
